THE SCORE are a five piece rock band from Aberdeen who have been together now since summer 2000. With two UK tours, various gigs all over the UK and some high profile support slots, THE SCORE have had their busiest 12 months to date. Alongside their sold out headline gigs the band have supported Gomez, Reef, Proud Mary, The Jeevas and The Bluetones to name a few. Slots at T-Break, Daily Records 192 Big Break and goNORTH 2003 confirm their position as one of Aberdeen's and Scotland's most promising young bands. Radio and press coverage has allowed the band to build a very strong following which was proven at the end of February 2003 with their sell out show at The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen. During November / December 2002 the band played to over 2000 music fans and interest from all areas of the industry and media stepped up.
THE SCORE lie somewhere between the power of The Black Crowes with the energy of The Clash mixed with the pure quality of The Stone Roses and beauty of early Verve with a definite Paul Weller influence through it all. A great rhythm section that grooves with care, magnificent vocals that are raw and powerful and some of the best guitar licks around describes the band best. Couple this together with the raw energy of THE SCORE's live shows, their pop anthems and sing along choruses it creates a convincing picture of a band that are knocking on the door of the big time.
"Intelligent rock 'n' roll, laced with memorable hooks, top quality musicianship and an attitude you can trust." Del Franklin (Northsound 1FM DJ)
"The vocals are magnificent and have real raw energy and power. Think 'The Black Crowes' crossed with 'Sugar' and 'Pearl Jam'. New and exciting." Matchbox Recordings (London)
Look out world, THE SCORE are coming and they ain't taking no prisoners.
